I’m Joy — a western lifestyle and rodeo photographer drawn to the real parts of this life. The dust, the work, the connection, and the small moments that make this life what it is.

In 2019, I started taking photography more seriously and realized how much I loved the connections it brought — meeting people, hearing their stories, and creating images they’d hold onto for years. I’ve always been drawn to the real moments and the western way of life: families on their ranches, the bond between a rider and their heart horse, the quiet moments between couples.

I grew up going to rodeos and always knew I wanted to be part of that world — I just didn’t know how. Turns out, my place was behind the lens, seeing the sport in a whole new way. The grit, the horsepower, the people who give everything for eight seconds or a clean run — it’s a world I’m proud to photograph.

I split my time between Iowa and Wyoming, photographing the people, horses, and stories that make this lifestyle what it is. No matter where I am, my goal is the same — to document your world with honesty and heart.

If you’re looking for photos that feel like your life — not a photoshoot — I’d love to work with you.

Let’s tell your story.
